identify Mystery Person #42 as former Hazard
Police Chief - Bud Luttrell. Bud was born in 1921. He was a graduate of Hazard High
School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He also
studied at the University of Kentucky. During World War II
he was a flight engineer. In 1950, he joined the Hazard
Police Department. He
was often seen at Memorial Gym during basketball games. He was married in
1948 and the couple had three children. Luttrell left Hazard in
1980, moving to Ft. Meyers, Fl., where he spent his last years
attending Daniels Road Baptist Church, fishing and playing with
his granddaughter. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, was
a Shiner and a member of the Kiwanis. Buds'
mother - Annice Luttrell, was recently featured as a Mystery Person.
Bud Luttrell died in 1984.
